Born in Miami, I have always been drawn to the ocean to walk the beach. From an early age, I collected holey shells. A puzzler at heart, who has spent more than 30 years problem solving with 4 year-olds, teaching pre-k, I see beauty in small pieces.
In the early 70’s, I discovered Blue Ridge. Living in the woods, surrounded by bird sounds, water falling, and beautiful trees, I spend my deck time creatively stringing with Irish Linen thread the Beach Finds that I now collect on Amelia Island, where we have a second home. These knotted necklaces include fossils, shells, and glass beads.
Shark’s Teeth have become my signature. Millions of years old, they represent strength. Legend has it that if you wear a shark’s tooth, you are protected from all that might harm you. Luckily, they are prevalent on Amelia Island, and I am able to “see” the tiniest of them.
